What have I learned in geography so far?

I learned that geography has alot to do with history. The word geography comes from a greek word. The first people ever to study geography were the greeks.Then, the romans started to study maps and unknown lands. Countrys are different because they don’t speak the same language, they have different cultures, religions, beliefs, arcitechture. geography can be split into two main branches: phisical geography and human geography. Phisical geography is the study of the earth’s surface, the enviorment and distribution. Human geography is the study of what we are doing to the enviorment. When I think of geography, I think of maps and the world.

For my summer vacation, I went to Tioman which is an island , off the east coast of Malysia

I went snorkling and saw hump head parrot fish. They were so big that my mum pulled me back!
We also saw sea cucumbers, sea anenomes, clown fish and a monitor lizard.

I also went rock climbing at camp five. http://www.camp5.com/
I climed this really big wall which had no grips and i had made it to the top! I loved it so much.

I learned that a current event coul be any kind of news that is recent and is an event.

ex:the Hezbollan are getting weapons to battle Israel which worries Lebanon.That is a current event!(I didn’t include all the news)!

Many Lebanise are being killed or their homes have been destroyed. Families are also being seperated. It must have been very sad for the lebaninse. I saw on the news one day a family from Lebanon had lost a mother and just had to move on.The Hezbollah are attaking the people in Israel and they got there arms from Iran and Syria.The Hezbollah are a group in Lebanon. Hezbollah are trying to get hold of new weapons.

The new information that has emerged on the social studies article about lebanon is that they say who is concerned and affected.

“ as part of a resolution called 1701 - will see as many as 15,000 soldiers making up a force to try and keep the peace working in southern Lebanon.” the soldiers are trying to make peace in Lebanon. Mr. Annan, the lebanise, hezbollah and israel are all affected.

a. What did you find interesting about this topic?

I think that tallking about what is happenning in the world is quite interesting because some people migt listen and try to put a stop to this war. Tallking about the economy is like reading a world wide newspaper. learning with comtuters about the Lebaninse wasost intersting. Before i did’nt really know what was going on with the hezbollah and Israel and the lebanise. Now I know!

b. What did you like about the initial blog posting?

I liked it at the end of each paragraph how there was a question which would guide us.
